TET Project Updates 14th June 2017

It's nearly 2 months since I last posted to this blog so I thought it was way beyond time I made the obligatory 'I'm not dead, check in with anyone wondering where I've been and what I've been up to' post.

Looking back at my two last update posts, the first from March 2016 and the second from July 2016 I'd like to say the reason for my lack of posting is different but no, still Animation 4 Business client projects have been a factor.


However these have only been a factor up until the end of May 2017 (since my last post in mid April 2017) where I took on a project of six 1-2 minute GoAnimations to be completed in just over a month all by myself.

Since that job wrapped I"ve been having a kind of break and trying to rethink and revitalize my whole Art Time Productions/The Extraordinary Tourist empire. As well I've been chipping away at a new, completely separate business venture, an independent blog titled, Digital Art and Animation (which currently is a parked Word Press site but will evolve into a blog, not unlike this one but less focus on me and my projects).

I also bought myself a build it yourself 3D printer which ended up taking a week to build instead of a day like all the reviews claimed. The plan for that is to create figurines of some of my original animation characters so you may see these featured on this site... however 3D printing doesn't quite fit the topics covered by this blog so don't expect detailed coverage or tutorials.

To round out this update I'll give a brief rundown of projects that I've previously started, blogged about and have yet to complete.

JAC G2 Character.

JAC Cat G2 Crazy Talk Animator Character

This project is definitely dead however with the launch of CrazyTalk Animator 3 and it's G3 animal characters, don't be surprised if I embark on developing him has a G3 character in the near future.

Hoot.

Hoot Game Creation

I don't want to call this one dead but I haven't worked on it in more than a year. I hope to get back to it at some point because I still believe it was a unique concept that would be successful.

The Commedian.

The Commedian iClone/CrazyTalk 8 animation

I really regret releasing my one minute short of the Commedian for Reallusion's CrazyTalk 8 contest last year. The short didn't do well in the contest and the feedback wasn't particularly motivating.

I'd love to get back to this project with a new comedy routine to reinvigorate it as I feel the original routine missed the mark. I just need to find the time to write it.

Cool Froyd Episode 4 - CrazyTalk Animator 3 animation

I haven't mentioned this project in this blog but I have on my Facebook page. Episode 4 has actually had all the key frames blocked in plus the voices recorded and just needs me to do all the final animation.

The thing is, I've kind of lost interest in finishing it. I don't feel the series is particularly as funny as I'd hoped, and this specific episode is a mediochre script at best. I don't have a fifth episode in me for the current format and feel the whole concept needs a rethink.

For now the series in its current form is dead but Cool Froyd will be back in some form in the future.

I think that's it for now. Hopefully I'll be back to posting weekly from this point forward until the next wave of Animation 4 Business work hits. I can't guarentee it but I certainly will do my best to make the effort.
