Learning Moho Pro 12 (Anime Studio Pro) - Part 5, Pro Only Videos 1-6

Image
Right now I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on Moho Pro 12 after having completed all the Anime Studio 11, Debut and Debut/Pro video tutorials . However I still have 45 videos to go for features that are Pro only (and I haven't even started on the What's new in Moho videos yet!) With so much more to learn, let's dive right in... As before, these 45 videos are not sorted into any logical order. I've made my best guess based on titles to put them in a viewing order that makes sense. If you have these same tutorials I will give you a complete list of what I think is a good viewing order that won't leave you confused. (Though I'll probably do this as I reach the last few videos). For this post I will be covering the following videos: Pro - Advanced Project Settings Pro - Advanced Workspace Tools Pro - Advanced Drawing Tools Pro - Random Line Width Pro - Image Tracing Pro - Vector Shape Selector Just by changing the depth of field and Render Style project...

Learning Moho Pro 12 (Anime Studio Pro) - Part 4, Debut and Pro Videos 11-26

Image
In my last entry I was part way through the second batch of Moho and Anime Studio (Both) video tutorials . Twenty six videos in total, of which, I completed the first ten. This post I work my way through the remaining sixteen and discover some pretty sweet, time saving effects in the process. Continuing on from video 11 through 20, this block of videos mainly covers updates to various tools and shows you how they all work. Quite a few of the tools have already been used in earlier tutorials so it's not a big strain to take in all the information (and this post would get quite boring if I started describing everything covered in each). Videos are listed by filename. Pro and Debut Video  Tutorial Title Page Both - Freehand Update Both - Tool Updates Both - Brush Styles Both - Updated Brushes Both - Variable Width Curve Both - Multi-Shape Selection Both - Multi - Layer Editing Both - Combined Point Tools Both - Combined Bone Tools Both - Hide Bones and Points Both - Layer Outline E...

Learning Moho Pro 12 (Anime Studio Pro) - Part 3, Debut and Pro Videos 1-10

Image
After learning the basics of Moho Pro 12 from SmithMicro's 15 Anime Studio Debut video tutorials in Part 2 , I'm now moving on to the 26 video tutorials that cover features in both the Debut and Pro versions of Anime Studio (if you're wondering, these video tutorials are just rebadged Anime Studio tutorials included with my Moho 12 Pro purchase). Like the Debut video tutorials the videos are not sorted into any logical order, making it extremely hard to know where to start and then what video to move onto next. I'm attempting to sort them into a logical order as I go. If you have the same tutorials I'll give you what I think is the ideal viewing order, possibly in my next post. For now, I've only worked through ten of the twenty six videos in what I feel is a logical order, building upon what I've already learned. They are (shown by file name): Pro and Debut Video Tutorial Title Page Both - Help AS11_Both_Preferences Both - Tabs AS11_Both_Save_All_Tabs Bot...

Learning Moho Pro 12 (Anime Studio Pro) - Part 2, Debut Videos 1-15

Alvin Owl: Bones Rig. In part 2 of my journal blog documenting my progress with learning Moho Pro 12 I dive head first into the first batch of video tutorials covering the basics of Anime Studio Debut.... wait, what? In Part 1 I described how the video tutorials I purchased with Moho Pro 12 were in no particular order and made for a confusing mess. As well, most of the video tutorials are really for Anime Studio 11, which has all the same basic features minus whatever new features have been added. Since Anime Studio Debut is the easiest version of the software to learn I decided to start there with the 15 video tutorials specifically related to that. Taking a close look at each title I gave each a number as part of the filename title, so they would appear, in their folder, in what I think is the correct viewing order and natural progression for learning the software. If you purchased the software with the same video tutorials as I did, here's the viewing order of the Debut video...

Cool Froyd, Episode 3: Gardening - Animated Short by TET

Image
My latest animation is the third installment of my Cool Froyd the cat series titled, Gardening. In this episode Froyd explains how cats garden and recounts a story of some fairly odd gardening practices from TET (i.e. me). Watch the video below then continue on for background information about what inspired the video and detailed highlights from how it was made. Character Background How Froyd looks in 3D view. Cool Froyd is taken from an artwork I painted back in 2009 for my first solo art exhibition. You can see me paint the original artwork in my vlog series,  E13: TETs S.A.L.A. Exhibition Journal . When I first discovered CrazyTalk Animator Pro, Cool Froyd is the first of my own characters I created with it. There's a detailed look at how he was made in this post,  Cool Froyd the Cat and Crazy Talk Animator Pro . You can also read about how he is animated in CrazyTalk Animator 2 in this post,  Cool Froyd the Cat and Crazy Talk Animator 2 (Pipeline) . Inspiration The sc...

Review: Gunnar Gaming Eyewear - MLG: Phantom Specs

Image
Gunnar MLG: Phantom Specs. As someone who stares at screens virtually all day I can safely say my vision isn't the best. I'm completely fine reading monitors but I do struggle a little with my mobile phone screen. So when I heard about Gunnar Computer Eyewear , specs that supposedly reduce eye strain, dryness, glare and increase sharpness and brightness of vision I thought these might be worth a try. I must admit I ended up with the MLG: Phantom specs because they were the cheapest model I could buy through ebay and have in my hands within a few days. Honestly, I didn't want to spend too much because I was a little skeptical that they would be of great benefit. Although the Phantom specs are listed as a 'gaming' model, I can't really see any difference between their specifications and those listed as 'computer' models - other than the visual styling and construction. As near as I can tell the lenses have the same specs across the range (unless you order...

Random Testing Unit - Can you believe what Police are testing for now?

Image
Police forces in many places around the world perform roadside, random breath tests to catch out drink drivers. More recently, in some parts of Australia at least, Police conduct random drug tests in response to growing concerns of people driving under the influences of other illicit substances. In a spark of silliness, I got to thinking what else could Police forces start randomly testing for on the roadside? That's how my short animation, Random Testing Unit , began to form. Before reading any further you should watch my animation below as the humour is generated through the initial premise. Once you know it, you can't un-know it. When you've seen it, read on to find out my process of creating the animation. Should Take About a Week with Muvizu... After I had my initial idea, it only took me about three days to write my full script. At the time I was learning Muvizu , the low cost, 3D animation software that claims it's the easiest and fastest way to tell stories with...
